Some people forget about their parents when they leave the nest. Is it weird I talk with my mom daily (even multiple times a day?) dad too. Ok, yes that is a little over the top but says here, a chat with mom helps reduce stress. So call home once in awhile :) It will do you some good.
Things seem to work out in odd ways.
So this is a coin pouch I had found in my house when I was about 6 or 7 years old. I had no clue what the symbol meant, I just thought it was “retro” and decided to use it. Fast forward about 13 years and as I was reorganizing my closet, I found this little purse once again. Suddenly it had a new meaning. ”Catalunya” is the region in Spain where Barcelona is located and where I studied for the past three-four months. The striped circle is the flag of Catalunya and they are VERY proud of it. My parents had picked up the coin purse during their quick stay in Barcelona in ‘92, but I had never really understood where they had traveled and had never put the pieces together. Until today.
Weird, right? I guess I was meant to study in Barcelona after-all.
Even better - I was helping my dad clean out the garage and some of his old boxes to find journals and souvenirs of his trips to Spain. Now I know where some of my little habits come from. Apples don’t fall far from the tree.
A beautiful way to start the day, watching the sun rise over Mammoth Mountain alongside three happy labs and a fire burning in the fireplace. We had to head back home to Los Angeles today, but it was a great mini-vacation. So blessed and lucky to be able to travel and stay every once in a while. It’s like no other - I have the ability to complete relax and forget about most of my worries. Almost like a stress-free zone (somewhat) :) Absolutely love Mammoth Mountain.
Christmas time in Mammoth? This is probably the least amount of snow I have ever seen on the mountain in my life! A strange comparison to last year when it wouldn’t stop DUMPING!
But, we made use of our little getaway…two solid days of skiing (even through the ice and slush), two great mountain runs, and some nice rest and relaxation in the cabin. This is probably the only time I will be up here this winter, so enjoying every minute :)
